Meet my little buddy Strat, a Red Stag
Miniature Pinscher with an attitude. He's definitely a big
dog in a little body. Just ask our Fed Ex guy. He has the
teeth marks on his shoes to prove it! |

|

|
And
this is "Kitty
Max", my former office mascot until Strat invaded his
territory! This adorable Maine Coon and great foot warmer is
rather small for a Maine. He weighed in at his last visit to the vet at a mere
24 lbs! |

No photo album in the Denton household would be
complete without our beloved yellow Labrador Retriever, Dauber,
aka The Schnoogie Man. This boy is truly man's (and this woman's)
best friend! |

Summer 1999
I headed off to
Chicago, Illinois for the 19th Annual Romance Writers of America Conference in July just
in time for the record setting heatwave that hit the area. It wasn't all work and
no play though, as fellow Temptation & Blaze author Janelle Denison, myself,
Superromance author Darlene Graham and my dear friend Leslie Furnari found a little time
to cool off by visiting Navy Pier. |

|

|
Still at Navy Pier,
Leslie, Darlene and I couldn't resist trying out a new look. And here we
thought we had a lot of shoes! This sculpture, made entirely of women's shoes, is
located outside of Navy Pier. |
After a very warm
day spent traveling friends gathered at Chicago's Hard Rock Cafe for dinner.
Starting at the bottom clockwise is Superromance Carol Wagner, Silhouette Kathy Attala,
Leslie Furnari, Superromance, Darlene Graham, Temptation & Blaze author, Janelle
Denison, myself, Superromance author Jan Freed and Temptation & Blaze author Carly
Phillips. |

Scattered throughout the City of
Chicago were cows, lots of them and they're all up for auction. I doubt Mrs. Leery
ever expected her infamous cow to look quite this way, but being romance authors, we
couldn't pass up a photo opportunity with the Utter Romance cow.
Pictured left to right are Berkley author Ann Josephson, Leslie Furnari, fellow Temptation
& Blaze author, Julie Elizabeth Leto and myself. |
1999 Romance Writer's of
America Annual Conference
Chicago, Illinois
 |
Playtime
ends far too soon! This picture was taken at the 19th
Annual Romance Writers of America Literacy Reception held at the Chicago Sheraton.
|
One of the major
highlights of attending the annual national conference is the chance to get together with
friends! Brunch on Thursday with the "Bunnies" topped the
list!
Pictured bottom, left to right, Superromance authors, Janice Kay Johnson, Jan Free,
Judith Arnold, Lyn Ellis and myself. Top left to right are Superromance authors
Laura Abbot, Carol Wagner, Patricia Keelyn, Kathryn Shay, Darlene Graham, Pamela Bauer,
Joan Kilby, Margot Dalton and Dawn Stewardson. |

|

|
Here are gathered at the
luncheon on Saturday afternoon to hear our good friend Judith Arnold's magnificent
luncheon speech.

Just as we all
suspected, Judith gave a wonderful speech. Very inspiring! We've all gathered
to congratulate her.

Winter 1999

|
There's nothing
more fun than being able to take a few days away from my busy writing schedule, and
spending them in Connecticut with friends was a real treat. Pictured at the Olive
Garden, seated, me, Leslie Furnari, Crystal Badeau, and standing
Harlequin Historical author Sharon Schultz, Laurie
Adams and Bea Sheftel. |

1998 Romance Writer's of
America Annual Conference
Anaheim, California
This is my
wonderful Temptation & Blaze editor, Birgit Davis-Todd. We were having lunch at Gepetto's located in the
Disneyland Hotel. |

|
|
Here's one of
Leslie and I "goofing" around at the Disneyland hotel with good buddy, Goofy. |

|
|

|
The most exciting
night of the conference . . .the RITA Awards Ceremony! Here's Leslie, me, Harlequin Superromance author, Kay David and Janelle in our finery. |
|
Following the
awards ceremony, I met up with friends and fellow Harlequin authors, Margaret Brownley and Ruth Jean
Dale, wearing her lovely headdress. |

|
|

|
The conference is
over and it's time to go home! After five days of non-stop fun, play and
parties, we're a little worse for wear. We're waiting to eat breakfast at Denny's
before Janelle takes Leslie and I to the airport. |
